staring the wrong way through a camera / if only the world would just stay that way / it looks so little and easy to fold away / it looks so cute, could i live in such a place / driving the wrong way down a one way street it’s so easy to scare the people you meet / they wave their arms and they wave their feet they look so cute but I’m glad I’m not like them / finding your way in the dark isn’t hard but you don’t know why / keeping your eyes closed is easier when you don’t try / on your way back to the car when the party’s a bit of a let down / it was too late when they let the balloons in the net down / I put my gloves on and walked outside / it was good to feel my fingertips warm / the sky was totally white it felt like drinking liquid light it was like touching electricity / it was an old man telling me a story, it was a wave on the sea it was coming down on a sugar high / and I could freeze time it’d be beautiful and I’d do it if I thought that it would only stay frozen forever / finding your way in the dark isn’t hard but you don’t know why / keeping your eyes closed is easier when you don’t try / on your way back to the car when the party’s a bit of a let down / it was too late when they let the balloons in the net down / fighting your way through the past just trying to feel connected / you drove by too fast and left most of it uncollected / we drove up the coast along cliffs in the dark and said remember when we went to spain? / it was december and still warm and there were lights in the distance of towns we didn’t know their names / billboard bulls on the way to bilbao and sweet little oranges in the petrol stations / it didn’t matter that there was nothing to say if only the world would just stay that way
