Running late..

September 8, 2003

OK so we’re really on tour now, this weekend we’re hitting NSW:

  • Friday 12th Sept – Northern Star, Newcastle
  • Saturday 13th Sept – Annandale Hotel, Sydney + Peabody + Earth To Nigel

It should be a blast, so get there early.

The album is gonna be a few weeks late. It was meant to come out today, but we all have to wait just a little longer. These delays always happen, whenever you set a date the album always arrives too late. Damn, shoulda set the date for August, maybe we’d be ready by now.

The benefit of hindsight eh?! It’s kinda like the “cd launch” gig scenario that anyone in a band will be familiar with – the cds never turn up on time and the launch is for a product that is not technically “..there..” yet.

You can still check it out on the site, just click the “new album” link. www.screamfeeder.com

How much rock can you handle?

September 1, 2003

So, when I was a kid I went to see The Ramones play in London, and I was impressed to see that they successfully managed to out-punk the large, fairly hardcore punk audience, simply by rocking on for an hour and a half or more, ’till the crowd was an exhausted mess, beaten, defeated.

Now, we’re kinda gonna attempt the same thing this Saturday night, the 6th, at Ric’s (Brisbane).

Screamfeeder will be playing the “intimate” venue (at full volume) over two sets, starting at 10.00 and 11.00pm. THEN, DJ TJ (yours truly) will take control of the decks and keep the pace crankin till dawn (5a.m.)

Can you handle it? Yeah, it’s a challenge, come on!

We’re also hitting the road this month, taking it to NSW, VIC and WA. Check the site for dates. www.screamfeeder.com

All systems go for the album, it’s actually gonna be a coupla weeks later than we expected, but it’s all happening. The singles are on the radio, the vids are on telly, and we’ve even been on home and away.

Now, don’t anyone be giving me static about being on the same telly show as Lo-Tel, or I’m likely to crumble into a mess of embarrassing contradictions and mumbled excuses. We figure channel 10’s money is better off in our pockets than Lo-Tel’s any day.

See you up the front,

screamfeeder live this weekend

July 23, 2003

Well we sure made up for our “temporary absence from the festival circuit” last weekend at Splendour! Darek “sat down and had a little rest” in the mud, for a couple of hours, Dean managed to display his arrow, a cross and the Star of David all at once and get away with it, and the rest of us did a jolly good job and represented ourselves thoroughly well throughout the day.

Out of the two gigs we played on the weekend we had irate stage techs after our asses after both the shows claiming we’d broken stuff – but later apparently the stuff was either fixable or “not broken after all”. Weird. Mellow out guys. kum-by-ah my lord!

Our new single “1*2*3*4*5” will be out in a couple of weeks, we’re pretty excited. It’s the keyboard song we’ve been doing live (and the one where Justin from the label comes up the front and gets all the words wrong – “5 4 3 2 1” nice.)

We’re playing a show this weekend in Brisbane at The Healer – it’s kinda part of the valley fiesta, a three night event called “triple hook” (wonder where they got that name). We’re on last on Saturday night (26th) after local heavyweights Halfway and Lancaster. It should be a fine night of revelry as the Fiesta usually gets people going pretty well.

That’s all for now, but lots more news coming soon.

A large weekend of rock

July 15, 2003

So not only are we playing at Splendour in the Grass this weekend (Sunday, 2pm, main stage) but we’re also doing another show, here in Brisbane on Saturday (19th) night. It’s at the Spiegeltent on Southbank (it’s a large mirrored tent, from Belgium, that has been touring the world and hosting varied events since the 1920’s). For more info (or if you’re just totally confused already like we all were) head here: http://www.qbfm.com.au/events/spiegeltent/st_overview.html

The gig is part of the Queensland Biennial Festival of Music, and starts at 10pm. It’s only a tenner to get in and there’s 3 bands on. I think it’ll be one of those “once in a lifetime” kinda gigs – weird but great!

We made a video for “I don’t know what to do any more” last weekend, and took some great snaps!

Check em here: http://www.screamfeeder.com

The video should be on telly VERY soon.

*Album out Sept 8th
*New single next month
*Gigs all over the place in August, September and October
*Keep requesting “I don’t know..”

Feeder Army, we salute you. (and we’ll see you at the bar)
