Screamfeeder – straight outta Brisbane

February 11, 2004

Out Of the Valley and into The Alley:

Well, we had our BUNNY single launch planned for a certain Brisbane venue that recently opened its doors and promptly closed them again, so this time around we’re saying “fuck the valley” and taking our launch gig to the “intimate surrounds” of the Alley Bar at Milton, on Friday 20th Feb.

It’s gonna be a massive, fun night, with Melbourne instrumental angular punk trio Love Of Diagrams, and Brissie bluez-grindin’ Vegas Kings supporting. So, get there early to get in at all – doors at 7.00pm and there are cheap drinks too.

Keeping to the suburbs we’re also playing the Edinburgh Castle (Kedron) on Friday 27th with our old pals Front End Loader (free show).

The US of A
Here we go – we’re going to America, for SxSW and we’re also in the process of getting ourselves some more shows around the joint.

So far:

  • Tues 16th March – Spaceland, L.A. w/ Riff Random, Ground Components, Tucker B’s, Architecture In Helsinki.
  • Thursday 18th March – The Drink, Austin TX – SxSW
  • Saturday 20th march – Cheapo Discs – Austin TX – instore gig (free)

That’s all the news for now fun lovers, but as always, there will be more..see you at the bar.

The dates:

These will be our LAST shows in these cities before our U.S. tour in March! more news to come..

SCREAMFEEDER to play Northern Star in Newcastle

Riding the success of their latest (7th) album “Take You Apart”, Brisbane’s Screamfeeder will play at the Northern Star in Newcastle on Friday December 5th.

The following day Screamfeeder appear at Sydney’s HOMEBAKE festival (2pm, Dome Stage) for more info hit http://www.screamfeeder.com
For interviews or if you need a press picture please e mail back!

“Forget Jet, The Vines, even You Am I… Screamfeeder are hands down the country’s best rock band and Take You Apart is all the proof you need. For real”. Nick Coppack, TIME OFF Nov 2003  ***** Album of the Week

“Their latest is a no-fuss, boiled-to-the-bone rock record that bristles with energy and focus, leaving plenty of space for subtle melodies, simple hooks and Tim Steward’s hope-filled voice” Rolling Stone

“If ever the adage “all killer and no filler’ applied, it does with “Take You Apart’, one of the Australian albums of the year” Tsunami

“13 tunes-no filler and its ragged, infectious spirit evokes all kinds of glories: classic soul records, the early Who singles, the fire and fun of bands such as the Jam and the Replacements. Highlights are many but it’s hard to go past “I’ve Got The Knife”, one of the best tunes of the year, with its infectious melody and lyrics with just the right mixture of yearning, regret and hope.” Courier Mail
