WE ALL WANT TO – Blind Spots

WE ALL WANT TO – Blind Spots

WAWT005 // September 2, 2019. Digital / limited CDR run

This is the companion album to On The Dots.

The album includes Tim’s original demos when he was in London in 2016, for the Grant McLennan Fellowship, which we added some of Skye’s vocals and flute to – including one which got left behind; Try To Remember the Good Times Too. There are also two album out-takes, Nobody Right Now, and All Day, Scott’s first song for the band. There is a remix of Bottles, and an acoustic version of Hospital Carpark, recorded by Scott for his podcast Gimme Empathy. Lastly there are two songs which we took right back down to basics and re-recorded for this release, Complacent and Shock Absorber.

Recorded by Tim, Scott, Branko Cosic, Bryce Moorhead, Sep V, Jeff Lovejoy and Darek Mudge in Uki & Brisbane, 2017-2018. Mixed by Keelan Sanders, Magoo, Mick Borkowski and Tim Steward. Mastered by Bryce Moorhead at Zero Interference, Brisbane.

Words by Tim and Skye. All music written and performed by Tim, Skye, Dan, Scott and Arron, 2015 – 2019.

Majestic Horses – Away from the Sun

$20.00$30.00

In the Majestic Horses universe, Brisbane is twinned with Dayton Ohio, circa 1993, when Guided by Voices and The Breeders roamed the land.” Jenny Valentish (journalist and author of the books Cherry Bomb and Woman of Substances)

Kellie Lloyd brings the experience of this career to bear on a fresh set of songs inspired by social events that surround her. She is ably backed by Kate Wilson (The Holy Soul, formerly The Laurels) and Andrew P Street (The Undecided / Career Girls). Together this trio deliver a true shoegaze / dream album, Away from the Sun. Sonically, the album is masterfully pulled together true to it’s original vision via initial production from Dave Carter, mastering by Bryce Moorehead (Violent Soho) with mixing by Keelan Sanders and Bryce Moorhead.

About

“In the Majestic Horses universe, Brisbane is twinned with Dayton Ohio, circa 1993, when Guided by Voices and The Breeders roamed the land.” Jenny Valentish (journalist and author of the books Cherry Bomb and Woman of Substances)

Kellie Lloyd is well known for her songwriting prowess in Screamfeeder. In Majestic Horses she steps further into the limelight presenting her songs with pedigree musicians schooled from record collections similarly filled with 90s shoegaze, indie and dream-pop.

As a founder-member/singer-songwriter of Screamfeeder Lloyd’s credentials are long and illustrious – 7 albums, 4 Eps and 18 singles with the Brisbane indie-rockers, touring Europe and appearing on four tours of the Big Day Out, guest-programming RAGE, as well as appearing live on ABC TV!

WE ALL WANT TO – On The Dots

WAWT004 // March 1st, 2019

Our fourth album, and first featuring Scott and Arron. We intended this album to be less “rock” than The Haze, focusing on the songs and lyrics rather than muscle power of the guitars.

Skye’s songs were written when she was holed up alone in a caravan on the remote NSW south coast; Tim’s were written when he was in London in 2016, for the Grant McLennan Fellowship.

Recorded by Branko Cosic, Bryce Moorhead, Sep V, Jeff Lovejoy, Darek Mudge and Tim Steward, in Uki & Brisbane, 2017-2018. Mixed by Bryce Moorhead, Keelan Sanders, Magoo and Tim Steward. Mastered by Nao Anzai at Reel 2 Real Mix Master, Melbourne.

Words by Tim and Skye. All music written and performed by Tim, Skye, Dan, Scott and Arron, 2015 – 2018.

Press

The six songs reflect the variety of circumstances in which they were recorded, with the first three songs based on guitar and the others, including the eight-minute “Tunnel Music”, on piano.

Lloyd describes Fragile States as “basically a collection of things recorded over the last couple of years that were never really going to be anything, until they came together.

“They were just random recording sessions. They all had a purpose, but there was never a thread.” until now.

The results are a warm and beautiful collection of songs, by turns eerie, meditative and moody, which fans of Screamfeeder and Big Star’s 3rd alike should love. Andrew Stafford
