screamfeeder live this weekend

July 23, 2003

Well we sure made up for our “temporary absence from the festival circuit” last weekend at Splendour! Darek “sat down and had a little rest” in the mud, for a couple of hours, Dean managed to display his arrow, a cross and the Star of David all at once and get away with it, and the rest of us did a jolly good job and represented ourselves thoroughly well throughout the day.

Out of the two gigs we played on the weekend we had irate stage techs after our asses after both the shows claiming we’d broken stuff – but later apparently the stuff was either fixable or “not broken after all”. Weird. Mellow out guys. kum-by-ah my lord!

Our new single “1*2*3*4*5” will be out in a couple of weeks, we’re pretty excited. It’s the keyboard song we’ve been doing live (and the one where Justin from the label comes up the front and gets all the words wrong – “5 4 3 2 1” nice.)

We’re playing a show this weekend in Brisbane at The Healer – it’s kinda part of the valley fiesta, a three night event called “triple hook” (wonder where they got that name). We’re on last on Saturday night (26th) after local heavyweights Halfway and Lancaster. It should be a fine night of revelry as the Fiesta usually gets people going pretty well.

That’s all for now, but lots more news coming soon.

A large weekend of rock

July 15, 2003

So not only are we playing at Splendour in the Grass this weekend (Sunday, 2pm, main stage) but we’re also doing another show, here in Brisbane on Saturday (19th) night. It’s at the Spiegeltent on Southbank (it’s a large mirrored tent, from Belgium, that has been touring the world and hosting varied events since the 1920’s). For more info (or if you’re just totally confused already like we all were) head here: http://www.qbfm.com.au/events/spiegeltent/st_overview.html

The gig is part of the Queensland Biennial Festival of Music, and starts at 10pm. It’s only a tenner to get in and there’s 3 bands on. I think it’ll be one of those “once in a lifetime” kinda gigs – weird but great!

We made a video for “I don’t know what to do any more” last weekend, and took some great snaps!

Check em here: http://www.screamfeeder.com

The video should be on telly VERY soon.

*Album out Sept 8th
*New single next month
*Gigs all over the place in August, September and October
*Keep requesting “I don’t know..”

Feeder Army, we salute you. (and we’ll see you at the bar)

Screamfeeder Album Release Date, + clicks, flicks, pics and politics

June 24, 2003

Our single “I Don’t Know What To Do Any More” is out now! One little click, come on, click! ~ request it on JJJ or vote for it on the net 50 here: Request: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/requests/requests/default.htm

Politicking aside, our new album “TAKE YOU APART” – as in Screamfeeder Take You Apart – will be out on Monday Sept 8th.

A third single, “12345” will be out early August too. Look out for a major tour in Sept / Oct.

Next on the gig front is Splendour in the Grass, in Byron bay on 20/7 followed by a couple of Brisbane shows.

We made the video for “Don’t Know..” on Sunday (yeah yeah, better late than never!) and it’s gonna rock. Much gear was damaged, ribs were bruised, lips were cut and previously undiscovered muscles were strained, all in the name of visual art. Pics on the site very soon.

We went in to the practice room this week and began writing tunes for our next album, believe it or not. There’s no stopping the machine now! Expect another album next year.

See you all at the bakery.

Tim – Turkish
Kellie – White
Dean – Baguette
Darek – Buns

Screamfeeder, hitting the suburbs

June 12, 2003

So, we’re doing SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS!! We’ll be playing the main stage on the Sunday. it’s gonna rock the damn stack. check it here: http://www.splendourinthegrass.com/main.html

We’ve also tacked another gig onto the end of the Intercooler tour, this Friday night at The Edinburgh Castle Hotel at Kedron (Brisbane, northside). It’ll be our first truly suburban jaunt in a long time. Pokies, bistro, carpet, puzzled expressions, we’ve seen it all before (Hoodoo Gurus tour, 1997) but we’re ready for it all. Come on!

The shirts have been selling very well, we had to order some more whilst on tour. We got some VERY small tight girls’ sizes, in the black shirt. They’re pretty “figure hugging” let me tell you. “Tasty” might be the best word to use.

The new single “I don’t know what to do any more” is most definitely out. kick up a stink if you can’t find it, or order it from us.
