All shows are with Intercooler. they’re a bunch of Brisbane guys who dress smart day and night, it seems. We can only manage nights, and that’s only occasionally too. Their music’s pretty bloody smart too. They know how to turn it on, put it on, put out, put it back, pull it in, all that stuff!

So this will probably be the last tour before the album is out, so it’s gonna be a lot of fun. ie see us now in a nice intimate venue, before we become megastars and only play the arenas. Last chance! We have new shirts, new cds, it’s all happening. check the site, or just come to the show!! No, i’m serious, really, come to the gigs, it’s gonna be cool fun.

In other news, Dean had his birthday and went out to J Mascis and got suitably “entertaining”, as always. He’s been getting a bit creative since gaining a year too, and has even been inventing a bit of his own stage fashion at home.. he’s on fire, ladies and gentlemen. Jeesh, one of these days, some lucky woman, somewhere around the country.. oof.

The rest of us are ok, just doing our thing, y’know.

We were talking about Superjesus calling their new album Rock Music tonight. Laugh? I almost pissed myself.

See you ALL up at the bar – who knows, maybe we’ll buy YOU a drink this time!

oh yeah, the computer was practically ruined by viruses this week, and they have sent themselves out to everyone in my whole address book. [not the kind of behavior you’d expect eh?] So be vigilant, be aware, and keep ’em clean folks, keep ’em very very clean.

Screamfeeder, alive-alive-o!

So the new album is in the can. We laid the trax to wax. We’re a walkin’ talkin’ hit factory. We write the songs, the whole world sings ’em. More cliches than you can shake a stick at, but the fact remains that OUR NEW ALBUM IS FINISHED! Details, check the site: http://www.screamfeeder.com

We’re gonna get the next single “I Don’t Know What To Do Any More” out in the next few weeks. We’re off on tour late May / early June with label pals Intercooler.

And we’re playing in Byron Bay this Friday night! It’s gonna be a kinda special show, the first gig doing a lot of the new songs in their “final” formats. So come along to the Great Northern Hotel and join in the fun.

So there I was in the studio thumbing through old Rolling Stone mags, and how many pictures were there of “the guy from lo-tel‘ were there? But how many pictures of him lugging OUR GEAR were there?? None! I’m gonna e mail R.S. some pics of the band doing our dirty work for us, making our packed lunches for the road, ironing Dean’s best trousers, taking the ham out of Kellie’s sandwiches for her, putting our forms in while we’re on tour, and helping Darek clean up after his Livid “performance”. Nice one lads.

More news coming soon, much much more news.

see you all at the bar.

*Kellie “just because you’re loud doesn’t mean you’re right”
*Tim: down and out but not down
*Dean: a lover not a fighter
*Darek: a farmer not a lover

Screamfeeder, hiding out south of the border

April 4, 2003

OK. So, we’re off to Melbourne to record the other half of our new album. Let me tell you know it’s gonna be our best ever, just so you know.

See the site for more details: http://www.screamfeeder.com

And of course, whilst in town we couldn’t resist getting a gig too, so you can stop nagging us you damn Victorians.

Here are the details: Sunday 13th AprilThe Green Room downstairs, 33 Elizabeth St, in the City with special guests:Treetops, Slinkee, and MCFM. It’s gonna be an indie rock extravaganza. Get in early.

We mastered our new single “I Don’t Know What To Do Any More” on Tuesday in Sydney, and it sounds damn fine. For the b sides we got 3 old songs remixed! The best is “Above the Dove” which has been given the full 80’s electro-rock treatment by genius remixers SoYouHaveLife. Also on there are versions of Stopless and Low which I did at home.

We do actually have heaps of great demos of our new songs lying around the house, but you ain’t gonna hear em before the album’s out! (when they’ll be used for bulk b side action).

Let’s see if anyone in Melbourne can think of anything original to say about Dean’s new tattoo (black arrow down arm. Very postmodern, arty, very Dean). *He’s heard all the “have you forgotten where your knob is mate?” comments a hundred times already.

Darek’s trying to come up with a tattoo idea too, can anyone help him?!

OK we’ll see you at the bar, of the Green Room. Wish us luck with recording.

*Dean – the grumpy driver
*Darek – the professional driver
*Kellie – the pile driver
*Tim – the screwdriver

screamfeeder – funny blast off to Spain, jobs done badly, and getting inked up

March 5, 2003

Funny how we’re right in the middle of recording and still we’re managing to play every weekend, even more than we would normally.. funny, very funny.

Anyway this Friday we’re off down to the Gold Coast again to play at the Troccadero, with Rocket Science. It should be a blast. Then next weekend we’re off to Sydney, there’s this new club put on by Popfrenzy, called SHAKE, or maybe it’s called Popfrenzy (I’m a bit confused myself), but it’s meant to be excellent, with everyone staying up all night dancing after the bands finish.

Sounds like something from Quadrophenia huh? It’s at the Spanish Club, on Sat 15th March.

The night before I’m doing a solo show at the Sandringham in Newtown, my first ever in Sydney I think. Kellie will be popping up during the set too, and supporting will be Brendan from Teenage Fanclub and BMX Bandits!! That’s on Friday the 14th*

So, last time we were down the coast, we managed to leave behind my case of pedals, which I wasn’t impressed about. I “cracked a ‘nana” (for about 1 minute, then settled down again) – the outcome was that we each have jobs to do from now on. Kellie is in charge of all leads and pedals in “the leads case” – we always leave leads behind at gigs too – and Dean is in charge of getting ALL the gear in the van at the end of the night.

Sounds simple? Well at our two next gigs, last week, UQ and The Breeders, he managed to leave things behind BOTH nights. Good work Dean!

At the bar later he confessed that rather than counting the pieces, he went on “look and feel”. Nice.

Talking of Dean, he got himself his first ever Tattoo last week, it’s a beautiful black arrow on his arm. Very unique, very Dean. He got it done by “some punk guy” at ALL STAR TATTOO in Indooroopilly, and is very pleased with it. The first run went in about 2 weeks, but all of a sudden a second run has been done, and I’ve got a box of ICE PATROL singles on my kitchen table. If you can’t find it in a shop (you should be able to) order it here!! http://www.screamfeeder.com

see y’all at the bar,
