Screamfeeder – back to school

February 19, 2002

It’s that time again, a time that most of the population know nothing about, but uni students know ALL about it – Orientation Week. A week where all the students go along to uni but don’t actually learn anything, instead they get really smashed and try to “orientate” themselves.. go figure.

Anyway we’re gonna help them in their pursuit of reckless abandon by supplying the soundtrack to their obliteration. And we’re doing it twice!

  • This Friday 22/2 at QUT Gardens Point (Brisbane) we’ll be headlining an ALL AGES event, at 9.00 pm. There are a few other bands on too. I know we’re always slack in the all ages dept, so here’s your chance kids. Anyone can come, you don’t have top be a uni student.
  • Next Wednesday 27/2 at UQ St Lucia (Brisbane) at Lunchtime. 12.00 It’s free, and all ages are welcome, again.

We’ll have T Shirts and CDs for sale at both the shows too, so bring all your cash!

In other news, we’re going to record a new single soon, because it’s been a while. And for all the latest in online gambling, porn, gossip, controversy, stolen credit card numbers, and funny little games where you put a frog in a blender…. check our site: www.screamfeeder.com

  • Tim – Colonel Mustard
  • Kellie – Miss Scarlet
  • Dean – Professor Plum
  • Darek – Reverend Green

Alex Lloyd

January 31, 2002

Greetings from all at camp feeder, we’ve been very busy lately writing new songs and planning our future like the responsible young adults we are. check the site for more info! www.screamfeeder.com

We’ve also been having healthy debates about which is worse: John Howard getting back in, or Alex Lloyd getting No.1 on the JJJ hottest 100. They’re both pretty scary concepts; both enough, in fact, to prompt kellie Lloyd towards thoughts of “leaving the country”!

On a brighter note, I’ve got my first very own big headlining solo show at Ric’s Bar (Brisbane) next Tuesday the 5th of Feb. The whole thing starts at 9.00 – then Dave and Bryce from Denvar will open proceedings at 9.30. I’ll be playing a bunch of my stuff, a bit of ‘feeder stuff, and a whole lot of other songs as well – acoustic, electric, the whole lot. 2 sets. I’ve got a feeling they’ll even let me play whatever I like between sets too – so you’re in for a fine night of music all round. It’s free to get in, and what a way to end a romantic night with your loved one?! Oof,

Talk about scoring points..! (home by midnight too – you can’t go wrong).

Danielle and Simon spotted the Smiths reference last time round in about 1 second – good work.

  • Tim – quack quack
  • Kellie – woman driving man sleeping
  • Dean – afro eurodisco trash
  • Darek – cool operator

Screamfeeder, Checks in the mail

January 20, 2002

We took the four track into the practice room (for the first time ever) this week and managed to put down all the bits and pieces of songs we’ve been writing recently. Kellie was in house engineer (positioning our 2 mikes), and I was producer (guy with headphones on). Dean was just the drummer. It felt good to do some tidying up!

Talking of tidying up, Dean and Darek moved in together this week – now that’s what I call tidy.

Congratulations to Brendan and Peta who spotted the Urge Overkill reference in about 2 minutes last time – oof, good going!

It’s check out time! Check out:Nadine’s amazing photos of us at the Annandale last August at the site: www.screamfeeder.com – what about those lighting effects, looks like we’re in Pink Floyd or something!

The new “Feeder Fan of the month” segment on the site!!

The review and photos from Tim’s recent live show at Ja Ja’s Lounge in Brisbane here: http://www.brispop.com/photos.cfm?articleID=145

We’re doing a whole series of acoustic shows around Brisbane in the next few weeks. A couple of full band shows for all you lucky university students too. All details on the front page (stop me if you’ve heard this one before) ..of the site.

Poor Alex Lloyd had to play Homebake with his busted arm in a sling (saw it in WHO magazine down at Woollies) – serves him right for not being able to hold his liquor.

  • Tim – can’t read his own writing
  • Kellie – gets the bloody marys in
  • Dean – scrubs up alright
  • Darek – got fired from his job

Screamfeeder – a mess up, a fess up, a dress up, and some press ups

January 9, 2002

After my big hoo-ha last week over the mail outs and all the wonderful functions they can perform I went and screwed it all up by losing the things people sent me to put on the site and in the mailouts..

I’ve been transferring my files to my new computer all week and, well, I lost some stuff between there and here (across the room – sounds hard to do doesn’t it..) sorry – send in yr photos and blurbs again if you want.

Congratulations to Jarrod from Melbourne who nailed the Adam and the Ants reference last time, and won himself a screamfeeder cd in a matter of about 2 hours! *..I crept around outside his window at about half twelve last night, and he WAS playing it too! Spot the musical reference this time and you’re in line for some stalking-and a free cd of course. If you get it wrong you will receive a free Alex Lloyd cd, so think carefully.

Tim will play 2 special solo shows soon in Brisbane (1st person/3rd person dilemma kicking in, it’s too early in the morning) and these are:

  • This Saturday (12th) at Ric’s Bar, Valley Mall, 4pm – free entry, plus Trent of Four Horse Town fame will be playing too.
  • Friday 25th at the Zoo.

Rumours of a February Tour are circulating.. we’re gonna have to get in shape. Check Who Magazine for details next time you’re queuing up at Woollies.
