This week’s shows

September 21, 2004

OK so we’re most of the way through our Album Tour. Playing at The Esplanade was (as always) one of the highlights but as “Australia’s smokiest venue” it played havoc on the old *health*. Never mind though, we will bounce back – and be doubly stronger than before.

Here’s the run for this week:

  • Wed 22nd Sept Electrico / THE WHATS [Tim and Dean – side gig – not screamfeeder show] The Troubadour, Brisbane
  • Thurs 23rd Sept Newcastle University + Electrico – with Gerling
  • Fri 24th Sept Green Room – Canberra + Electrico + Static Empire
  • Sat 25th Sept Annandale Hotel, Sydney + Jamie Hutchings (Bluebottle Kiss) + Electrico

Electrico are our mates from the fair isle of Singapore. Here to show off their rock wares and try to drink 2.5 litres of voddy and smoke 2 cartons of ciggers each in 10 short days. They’re doing well on all fronts so far. You should really come and check them out.

*They might be selling some duty free ciggers at the merch stand too actually.

Talking of the merch stand (oh yeah, that was smooth!) we have very nice new album / tour shirts. check the site for all this and more: www.screamfeeder.com

see you all at the doctor’s.

Screamfeeder say Good On Everybody!

August 16, 2004

Our new 22 track album INTRODUCING: SCREAMFEEDER – singles and more 1992 – 2004 is out next week, and we’re off on tour to celebrate. Our good mates ELECTRICO from Singapore are schlepping all the way over here to support us on half the dates (as well as doing their own shows).

I had a word with the manager of Jacka’s out at Kedron the other night, see if I could get him to give the dude from Lo Tel (he’s moved up to Brissie to be closer to us, whaddya know?!) a few nights off work so they could fill in the missing support slots.

He said I might have to go in and do a few daytime slots myself to make up for it, so I’m trying to hook Darek (who has run off and joined Intercooler as well now, two timing little tart!) into that little number. Negotiations are still underway, so fingers crossed.

Anyway here’s how it’s looking.

  • Thurs 2 Sept MOJOS BAR – North Fremantle WA + Tucker Bs & Ikey Mo
  • Friday 3 Sept Amplifier Bar – North Perth WA + Tucker Bs & The Avenues
  • Sat 4th Sept Jive Bar, Adelaide – supports TBA
  • Sat 11th Sept Troubadour, Brisbane + The Grates + Special Branch
  • Fri 17th Sept Esplanade front bar, Melbourne + The Suits + Electrico + Cannon
  • Sat 18th Sept Ding Dong Lounge, Melbourne + The Suits +Electrico
  • Thurs 23rd Sept Newcastle University with Electrico + Gerling
  • Fri 24th Sept Green Room – Canberra + Electrico
  • Sat 25th Sept Annandale Hotel, Sydney + Electrico

Plenty more info on the site.

Now onto our “good on everyone” section for this newsletter.

Good on THE WHO for rockin the house down in Sydney a couple of weeks ago.

Good on Jay from FRENZAL RHOMB for keeping his cool while stickin’ it to the man (Austereo jokers Kyle and Jackie O).  Hear the whole interview here: http://www.bombshell.live.com.au/Frenzal_Fox_FM_Interview.mp3 and read the guff here: http://www.spinstartshere.com/archives/music/_frenzal_rhomb_vs_kyle_and_jackie_o.html

And good on us for being around so damn long and and putting out a crankin’ singles album eh? We even plan to play a few of the old chestnuts at some of the shows – IF you’re good, and IF you request them beforehand.

Tim and Dean’s new band THE WHATS have some shows coming up too www.thewhats.com

See you all, as always, at the bar. Here’s to another 12 years!

lotsa love

Screamfeeder camouflage the butchers nuts

June 30, 2004

Well it’s been a long time since sending out a newsletter but we’re hitting the boards again, so here’s the guff:

Brisbane: This Saturday night the 3rd July we’re playing at The Zoo with Melbournians Machine Translations.

Next Saturday night the 10th, we’re doing a “valley fiesta weekend” night at The Troubadour

NSW / VIC / SA / WA: we’re off on tour in September, check the site: http://www.screamfeeder.com

We also have our singles album coming out in August. It’s gonna be a 79 minute, 21 track bonanza of feeder rock over the last 12 years. The more observant of you will notice that we haven’t actually put out 21 singles, but we’re filling it up with other songs which shoulda been, or coulda been singles too. It’s gonna be a whole mess of fun.

No enhanced features, or DVD capers or screensavers or anything like that, just straight up music (nothing to do with the fact that my computer goes all squiffy trying to play mutimedia cds).

It’s gonna be called Introducing: Screamfeeder – just as well we’re not a household name or anything.

Win a free copy of the album by correctly guessing all 21 songs..

See you all at the bar,

(but not before some dumb jokes)

I went to buy some  camouflage trousers the other day..
but I couldn’t find any.

I went to the butchers the other day and I bet him 50 bucks that he couldn’t reach the meat off the top shelf.
And he said, ‘no, the steaks are too  high.’

My friend drowned in a  bowl of muesli.
He was pulled in by a strong currant.

Our  ice cream man was found lying on the floor of his van covered with nuts & hundreds and thousands.
Police say that he topped himself.

The screamfeeder mile high club

April 13, 2004

We’re back from travelling 26,000 miles, each, around the world, playing in 3 continents.

  • It rocked.
  • We played in some amazing places, and even ended up doing a BBC radio session live to air across the UK! [online soon].
  • We played at SxSW in Austin Texas and got given more free clothes, CDs and cigarettes than you can poke a stick at.
  • Dean and Tim played the first ever 2 piece screamfeeder gig in London.
  • Kel got her bag, passport and tickets stolen, but she was recognised by staff at the consulate the next day.
  • Dean almost got arrested in Paris.
  • We lost our tambourine and keyboard stand.

Check the website for the first installment of photos from NZ, LA Tx, NY, London, and a little more too. GO HERE NOW!: http://www.screamfeeder.com

Our homecoming gig in Brisbane is at the Troubadour on Sunday 25th April, (pre Anzac day public holiday) with Mexico City and Solid Archers. It’s free entry, so be early (it’s a small place).

We don’t have a rehearsal room any more so it’s gonna be fun.

We’re also doing a May residency at Brisbane’s DEPOT nightclub, in May [all gigs free entry]:
*Thursday 13th
*Thursday 20th
*Thursday 27th

So that’s a lot of music for free you lucky people.

see you at the bar, tim/kel/dean/dazza *screamfeeder*
