Catch up

2019 was a pretty busy year for all of us, a handful of gigs with SF as well as tours and releases with our other bands.

Kel released the Majestic Horses’ album Away From The Sun and it got a ton of love. Tim’s band WE ALL WANT TO released their 4th and 5th albums; On The Dots and Blind Spots.

Next year’s gonna be massive.. we can’t wait. We’ll be unveiling our plans in late Jan. Join the mailing list (below) – we’re gonna give mailing list people the jump on social media people.

In the meantime we’re playing with the Hoodoo Gurus in January, that’s gonna be fun. We always forget how many of their songs are absolute classics and how tight they are as a band. Something to aspire to.

Thanks to everyone who came an saw us this year, it’s always excellent to see so many people singing along – you know the lyrics better than us. Well Kel’s pretty good, Tim’s a bit all over the place. Cheers and see you at the bar in 20202 or even just 2020 XX

WE ALL WANT TO – Blind Spots

WAWT005 // September 2, 2019. Digital / limited CDR run

This is the companion album to On The Dots.

The album includes Tim’s original demos when he was in London in 2016, for the Grant McLennan Fellowship, which we added some of Skye’s vocals and flute to – including one which got left behind; Try To Remember the Good Times Too. There are also two album out-takes, Nobody Right Now, and All Day, Scott’s first song for the band. There is a remix of Bottles, and an acoustic version of Hospital Carpark, recorded by Scott for his podcast Gimme Empathy. Lastly there are two songs which we took right back down to basics and re-recorded for this release, Complacent and Shock Absorber.

Recorded by Tim, Scott, Branko Cosic, Bryce Moorhead, Sep V, Jeff Lovejoy and Darek Mudge in Uki & Brisbane, 2017-2018. Mixed by Keelan Sanders, Magoo, Mick Borkowski and Tim Steward. Mastered by Bryce Moorhead at Zero Interference, Brisbane.

Words by Tim and Skye. All music written and performed by Tim, Skye, Dan, Scott and Arron, 2015 – 2019.

Live at The Metro

Self – Released September 21, 2019

November 1995, Dean had just joined the band and things were taking off. We’d played Brisbane’s LIVID Festival mid-afternoon, before hopping on a plane to Sydney for this show.

We were a little tired and a little drunk.

We played songs from our then current album Fill Yourself With Music as well as a few from Burn out Your Name. We also played a couple of new songs, including Bridge Over Nothing, from the forthcoming Kitten Licks; it got played twice – for the first times ever – that day.

This is a desk recording. Audio quality: B, performance: B+.

Recorded live at The Metro in Sydney on November 25th 1995, for an Aus Music Month gig. Live sound by Jon Gardner.

Majestic Horses – Away from the Sun

Price range: $20.00 through $30.00

In the Majestic Horses universe, Brisbane is twinned with Dayton Ohio, circa 1993, when Guided by Voices and The Breeders roamed the land.” Jenny Valentish (journalist and author of the books Cherry Bomb and Woman of Substances)

Kellie Lloyd brings the experience of this career to bear on a fresh set of songs inspired by social events that surround her. She is ably backed by Kate Wilson (The Holy Soul, formerly The Laurels) and Andrew P Street (The Undecided / Career Girls). Together this trio deliver a true shoegaze / dream album, Away from the Sun. Sonically, the album is masterfully pulled together true to it’s original vision via initial production from Dave Carter, mastering by Bryce Moorehead (Violent Soho) with mixing by Keelan Sanders and Bryce Moorhead.

Kellie Lloyd is well known for her songwriting prowess in Screamfeeder. In Majestic Horses she steps further into the limelight presenting her songs with pedigree musicians schooled from record collections similarly filled with 90s shoegaze, indie and dream-pop.

As a founder-member/singer-songwriter of Screamfeeder Lloyd’s credentials are long and illustrious – 7 albums, 4 Eps and 18 singles with the Brisbane indie-rockers, touring Europe and appearing on four tours of the Big Day Out, guest-programming RAGE, as well as appearing live on ABC TV!
