Screamfeeder head west

July 25, 2001

We haven’t been to Perth for quite a while so we thought we’d better pay some attention to the most isolated city on earth for a change.. here are the dates:

  • THURS 26 JULY SETTLERS TAV Margaret River
  • FRI 27 JULY JIGSAW Bunbury
  • SAT 28 JULY AMPLIFIER BAR PERTH
  • SUN 29 JULY MOJOS FREMANTLE

That’s starting Tomorrow!! We remember all you westerners too, (we also remember how expensive your ciggers are, don’t worry, we’ll stock up at the airport in Brisbane.) Our flight’s at 7.05 am.. Lo-tel weren’t around to drive us to the airport this time around, I think they’re getting a bit sick of us and our itineraries, but they did make us some sandwiches for the trip. (didn’t have the heart to tell them that planes have food on board these days).

Anyway enough claptrap, we’re coming to sydney next weekend and melbourne the one after.

We had a couple of fun nights on the weekend playing to pissed yobbos in rural locations. jeesh, what are our lives coming to?

WA kicks a goal!

July 31, 2001

Well Well!! what about W.A.?!! what a fantastic time we had over there, cheers to everyone who came, especially to Sunday night’s rainy gig down at Mojo’s in Fremantle, we played for an hour and a half – they wouldn’t let us offstage, with about 6 or 7 “unplugged” songs at the end of the set – it was a real pleasure. We’ll be going back there again!

Cheers to our excellent people over there too, making our tour run so smoothly etc. (you know who you are, c’mon!) If you’re ever in Perth go the the Amplifier Bar, it rocks, and the DJ plays anything you want.

Had the misfortune of flying QANTAS – that was the only downer of the trip. I’ve done a lot of flying, and can honestly say they must be the most incompetent, inept and generally hopeless airline I’ve ever experienced. Avoid like the plague.

OK this weekend is Sydney/NSW, the dates are:

  • Thurs 2nd Aug – Northern Star, Newcastle NSW
  • Fri 3rd Aug – Caringbah Bizzos, Caringbah NSW
  • Sat 4th Aug – Annandale Hotel, Annandale NSW
  • Sun 5th Aug – Headlands Hotel, Wollongong NSW

It should be wicked, it’ll be Darek’s first trip outta town with us, I think he’s quite excited, so are we. Come and check out his chops. All gigs are with the fantastic Youth Group. The following weekend is Melbourne, a flying visit, 2 gigs only, we’ll give you the details next week.

Someone told me something funny about Lo-Tel on the weekend, but it was 5 in the morning, I was a bit pissed, can’t remember what it was – damn!

Screamfeeder spring fashion run

August 8, 2001

We’ve got new shirts!! – people at last weekend’s little NSW run went nuts for them. A white print on a black shirt, it looks well tasty. We’ve got them in all sizes, from little girl to big man.

We’ve still got the other “Rocks On The Soul” shirts too, equally nice, on a dark green shirt:check em out and flash the cash (or card) here: www.powerup.com.au/~timst/merchandising.html

OK this weekend we’re coming to MELBOURNE!! 2 shows only:

  • Friday night, the Enigma Bar in Preston, with Blueline Medic
  • Saturday night at the Punters Club with Greedo and another band too.

We’re flying out at 7.05 Sunday morning, so we’ll be staying up all night (and arriving nice n tidy at the airport too mind you). Lo-Tel are in town too, and they’ve kindly offered us the use of their hotel suite (and spa!) – and they’re chucking in a free foot massage (each) into the deal – oof, maybe they were a bit pissed when they said that but I’m gonna hold em to it!

Come and see us play, you will regret it for all your days if you don’t.

  • Dean.. gets a little worried by turbulence
  • Kel..    loves it
  • Tim..    was asleep already
  • Darek.. sticks his tongue out a lot

Screamfeeder, asleep

August 12, 2001

Anyone who’s heard the rumour that Melbourne has the best pub/live music scene in the country, just believe it. the place rocks. We played the Punters Club in Fitzroy last night and it was just.. great, wonderful even – not US as such, just the whole gig, crowd and place. Very nice indeed, thanks for having us!

(Out in the wilds of Preston though it’s a bit of a different story.. heavy Lo-Tel territory maybe.. we felt a bit outnumbered by the slick, suave-smelling nightclub type customers..!)

Anyway, that’s us done touring for a while, unless anything unusual comes up. We’re gonna go to the practice room and write our next album; yes it’s about that time. I’m also gonna redo the whole feeder website, at the moment it reminds me of an old dinosaur lying by the roadside waiting to die. I’ve gotta get it happening. Kellie Lloyd (our bass player) opened her soul and released a solo album a few years ago, “for nothing and no-one” – it’s a bit of a gem too I might add.

Anyway we were rummaging thru the kitchen cupboards round at Lo-Tel‘s place the other day and found a box of them stashed in amongst the baking products – oof, cheeky gits! We took possession. e mail Kellie if you’d like to get yr hands on one:

Thanks everyone who came to our gigs, you make it all seem worthwhile.

  • Kellie: gets giggly when tired
  • Dean:  still looks sharp, even asleep
  • Tim:    stops talking
  • Darek:  drinks coffee before bed and wonders why he can’t sleep.
